Vertical Church Band

I greatly enjoyed this video this morning. Vertical Church Band's "Word of God".

"Everything will fade. Everything will fade. The heavens and the earth will pass away, but you will remain yes you will remain always. Jesus, Faithful Word of God, the Anchor of my heart, You're everything You say You are. Greater than my deepest need, the ground beneath my feet, Your promises won't fail me now."

Mom and Dad Knoerr at one of their favorite places, a gallery and theater in June 2011. We went to dinner across from the venue and then attended a play by our friend Judy Veramendi.

Mom and Dad drove all the way to the north side of Chicago and it was just a really nice time together with Laura and me and the parental units.

It is amazing really how to this day they continue to be interested in the things that all their kids and grandkids are doing. And there are even more grandkids that could still reconnect with them to enjoy time with them. I hope my kids do finally prodigally reappear.

A few weeks ago they were at their grand daughter Charis' first ballerina recital at three years old. And they will jump in the car and visit grandkids in Michigan at the drop of a hat. I am looking forward to seeing them tomorrow.

"Jesusians.org" — Visit Jon J's new site!!

I am really happy for my best friend Jon. He has been diligently writing his books on faith and has started a new blog at www.jesusians.org This is an excerpt from his latest post entitled John 1:13.
The interesting part of this meditation, to me, is how it would modify our view of who does what in regard to a precious soul brought to life. Genesis seems to teach that all children are a result of God’s planning. Isaac was a supernatural intervention from God. Sarah was barren and the prototype for a women of God. She was the first in a long line of barren women. God opened Leah’s womb. Rachel was barren. Samuel’s mother was barren. People were begatting all over the place, but it wasn’t so easy for God’s chosen line of humanity. It feels like God decided who would have what child and when. This is a far cry from the will of the flesh or the will of man. This is the will of God.
Jon has a lot of interesting ideas and unique viewpoints that are worth listening to. I am glad that he is willing to put his thoughts out into the marketplace of ideas and I hope that people can engage in a discussion which will result in lives being saved and those that are already saved to connect deeper with the heart of God.

Amen.

See that . . . feeling better again

A friend just facebooked me and said she needed an "Eagles singalong again." Last time was fun and I can feel summertime in the air this week. 70's all week the second week of March in Chicago. So from the introspective to sunshine and good memories in about 10 minutes. Thanks!

With Everything by Hillsong

Somedays, like today, I miss my children so much I can only trust God for another day. "Let hope rise. . . . With everything we will shout forth your glory." The word "ministers of reconciliation" keeps coming to mind. Thank you Michael Bowen for sharing this in the midst of your loss of Stephanie this week.

America needs to cut off money flowing to Saudi Arabia. Brigitte Gabriel Act! Founder

ACT! for America founder speaking at the Anti-Shariah conference in Nashville. She discusses how Saudi money is used to teach Islam in public universities and schools. Hitler said "Give me the children. I will change society in ten years." Teaching the Koran in Islamic courses in school is wrong. We need to teach our own children at home not allow the schools to teach them "dressing as a Muslim will increase your learning and enjoyment." Children adopt Islamic names, study "wisdom" cards, e.g. "Jihad" is a "struggle by Muslims against oppression, invasion and injustice"which are the TALKING POINTS of our enemies, Hamas, Islamic Jihad, and the Palestinian Authority. The children are taught lies and indoctrination. It is the very reason why we have separation of church and state."

Or perhaps you would like your kids to participate in the Become a Muslim warrior during the crusades" class exercise.

"Political correctness needs to be thrown in the garbage and start calling a spade a spade". Brigitte Gabriel.

Walk Off The Earth's "Somebody That I Used To Know"

Walk Off The Earth's awesome song . . .  "I thought I posted this months ago, but realized it must have been on Facebook. Well, here it is now for the blog. I really liked each singer, and finally found these guys (and gal) on a balcony in Canada on another site. Sarah Blackwood is so laid back.

Jim Boggia's Maybe I'm Amazed / Penny Lane medly

I really loved Jim Boggia's version of Maybe I'm Amazed. I also enjoy hearing his audience sing along on Penny Lane . . . these songs were probably something they heard from their parents collections!  In all of his videos, Jim Boggia has a humble attitude in the midst of all his God given talent. I appreciate that.

Stevie Ray Vaughn Licks
